Pediatric radiology procedures are central to the diagnosis of pathological conditions in children, infants and fetuses using non-invasive techniques. Radiological modalities are foundational in the diagnosis of pneumonia, foreign bodies swallowed or inhaled, birth abnormalities, primary cancer diagnosis, staging, response assessment, and surveillance in pediatric patients. MRI and CT are used for evaluating soft tissue tumors of the trunk and extremities and are preferred for imaging of the head and neck and utilized for assessment of tumors localized to the retroperitoneum, abdomen, and pelvis. Ultrasound offers functional information, including dynamic perfusion, tissue stiffness, and hemodynamic changes at the spatiotemporal resolution. Pediatric imaging procedures includes arthrogram, barium enema, bone density, CT scan, video swallow study, X-ray and MRI.
At AMI, our team of highly skilled pediatric radiologists provide screening and diagnostic support with state-of-the-art imaging modalities, advanced technology and the expertise to provide the best possible radiology care in the most compassionate way. We offer x-rays, CT (computed tomography or CAT), Ultrasound and MRI for accurate screening and diagnosis of sport and occupational injuries, hereditary dispositions, malignancies and tumors and arthritis of the bones and other joints. In order to prevent the harmful effects of ionizing radiation, the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle is strictly followed at AMI.
